Nevada Crystal Meth Addiction

In Nevada the large influx of methamphetamine is causing a lot of pressure for the state to provide enough addiction treatment facilities to help with drug addiction through drug rehab. Families of those who are addicted to drugs or drug abusers themselves are struggling, looking for options for effective addiction treatment. The effects of the drug problem for the state are serious, more than just the dangers of the side effects on the drug users. The increase amount of drugs flowing into the state is causing social issues and increase crime rates.
According to the DEA, methamphetamine is the most common and easily accessible drug in Nevada. Methamphetamine is better known as crystal meth. It is not being produced locally, but instead being imported from Mexico. In Mexico, labs are producing the meth and driving trucks through the state of California into Nevada. This is creating a problem for the DEA to control the influx of crystal meth, since they cannot just shut down the labs. Since the drugs and alcohol are never short of supply in Nevada, the people that are struggling with addiction are increasing, which is increasing the demand for reliable addiction treatment centers along with them. For families dealing with a family member who is suffering with drug addiction it is getting harder to find a residential addiction treatment facility to fit their needs.
Drugs in general are highly addictive and addiction is a medical condition. A user is trying to achieve the same high that they felt on their first use. However, a user can never get the same high. It only takes one use of a drug to become addicted. It only takes one use to overdose or die. Like all medical conditions, treatment is necessary.
If you or someone you know is struggling with drug abuse or addiction and is in need of help, Cove Center for Recovery - Addiction Treatment Center offers a flexible and affordable addiction treatment program. Our aim is to treat the whole person, and not just an isolated symptom. During the treatment process we will work with the client to identify the factors that may have contributed to you drug abuse – home, work, relationships and medical history. We also believe that families have a vital role to play in the recovery process, and each addiction treatment program has a place for family participation, to educate them in the treatment process and to equip them for their role as supporters.
